References/Testimonials:

"David Palan is a star music teacher.  My kids have had four teachers over the years, and I just assumed they weren't overly interested in learning.  It was a chore to get my son and daughter to practice, and they dragged their feet when it came to attending lessons. Then came Dave, and the kids have rocketed past their plateaus under his tutelage. They picked up new instruments (guitar in addition to piano), and have been playing them until their fingers are sore. The alchemy that Dave has visited upon them is potent. He mixes relaxed friendliness that mitigates anxiety with a professional demeanor that instills concentration and self-discipline. Dave artfully balance accessibility with commanding respect - to a magical end.  I've known Dave as a friend for 20 years, and have long lamented that he is not in our hometown of Boston because I knew he was the best teacher out there.  Now, through the technology of videoconferencing and file transfer, I'm elated to be able to connect my kids to his genius. He is flexible and patient, and his prices are quite reasonable.  When you factor in the value of his tutelage, he's the best value in all of music."

"My three sons and I have been studying music with Dave over the past five or six years, beginner through intermediate bass, guitar and piano.  Dave worked with each of us at the level where we were performing. His appreciation for and ability to teach a wide variety of musical styles, regardless of our playing ability, kept us all engaged over the course of our studies. We worked on a mix of foundational exercises and theory along with songs we were interested in and wanted to learn. In addition to being a fantastic teacher Dave is genuinely one of the nicest guys you will meet. I highly recommend.

"Dave is a great music teacher. Before I started taking lessons, I was trying to teach myself guitar but reached a plateau.Dave helped me take it to the next level. His knowledge of music is vast, his ear for figuring out how to play almost any song is uncanny, and his enthusiasm is infectious."
